The legendary Stanley Hotel in Estes Park has announced a design contest for a new hedge maze that's going up next year!

The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park was made internationally famous by the brilliant author Stephen King as the inspiration for his book The Shining, which then, of course, became the AWESOME (and absolutely terrifying) 1980 smash hit horror film.

In the movie, the hotel features a beautiful (and horrifying) hedge-maze garden. The real Stanley Hotel never had one. Until now!

FINALLY! Plans for a new maze are all set in motion. It will be a permanent addition constructed from 1,600 - 2,000 Alpine Currant hedge bushes. All that's needed now is... a design! Got some ideas? The Stanley International Maze Design Contest is open to the public and anyone can enter! Check out the Stanley Hotel website for rules and information.
