Some work will be done in Windsor this week that will cause part of the Poudre Trail to be closed for about a week. A section of the Poudre River Trail, one mile east of State Highway 257 will be closed due to the Town of Windsor sewer interceptor project. The closure will occur from Wednesday, June 13th through Tuesday, June 26th.

Due to the large scope and the north to south direction of the sewer line, there is no bypass of the closure possible other than on public roadways. Trail users accessing this section east of Hwy 257 and west of 95th Ave in Greeley will be forced to turn around at the closure.

After the trail re-opens, the impacted 100 foot section of trail will remain a soft surface for the remainder of the project to allow crossing of heavy machinery. During that time brief (five-minute) delays will occur when the trail is temporarily closed to ensure the safety of trail users while machinery crosses the trail. Trail users are asked to use caution through the project area.
