I was just talking about a pinball place in Downtown Loveland! Did they steal my idea?

In late January of 2017, I wrote up a story about how I think that someone should open up an arcade in Loveland’s The Foundry and name if after the long-lost ‘Pinball Palace’ that used to be in Downtown.  It would seem somebody listened. Almost.

The Reporter-Herald has the story on how a couple of guys ARE going to open up a pinball joint/arcade in Downtown Loveland. Theirs will be on 4th Street, though, not in The Foundry. 4th and Cleveland to be exact; right on that southwest corner. Most recently, a fitness place, ‘Bodies By The Best’, was in that spot.

Back in the day, this building was the Arcadia Hotel. Arcadia..arcade..Get it? I would have called it ‘The Arcadia’, but, it’s not me. These guys are going to call it ‘Flipside.’ Pinball, flippers, Flipside. I get it. Flipside will be a lot like Pinball Jones in Old Town Square in Fort Collins: Pinball games, video games, beer/cocktails. They want to have it open sometime this summer.

Without question, this will be a welcome addition to 4th Street and Downtown, in general, so I’m not going to make a big deal on how they stole my idea. I’ll just see if I can a get a few free plays of Star Trek, once they open!  What I DO have to do now, though, is come up with a different business idea for The Foundry.

Hmmm….
