Move over Fort Collins.

Windsor, Colorado has taken the status of the town with the most expensive average existing single family home price. According to the Coloradoan, Windsor passed Fort Collins with an average price of over $300,000 for single family homes, while Fort Collins is second in Northern Colorado in that category, with the average price at below $300,000.

I can still remember meeting a friend who had just moved from a not-so-safe section of Atlanta to Windsor. She was trying to remember the name of the movie that reminded her of Windsor.

That one with Toby Macguire, William H. Macy and Reese Witherspoon? Where they go from black and white to color?

Pleasantville. She thought that Windsor was like Pleasantville.

I couldn't disagree. Wide streets. Small town feel. Slow pace. A charming Main Street. Soda fountain.

I have never lived in Windsor, but I've worked there every day since 2007. Doing the morning show, I arrive bright and early, and I get a glimpse of what goes on in the middle of the night.

Nothing goes on in the middle of the night in Windsor. When I pull in, besides my the other morning show hosts, there isn't anyone else who is awake.

I often forget to take my keys out of my motorcycle. Think anyone else notices? No. Not yet, at least.

It's probably got the safest feel of any town in Northern Colorado. Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley all have their great areas. Of all of them, though, I wouldn't feel comfortable if I knew a young child was roaming all over it. In Windsor, I could see it.

Good schools, beautiful parks, new construction that considers experience, oh, and did I mention safe?

Now, because of many factors, it's getting hard for some to find a home in Windsor, because the prices are rising, and vacancy rates for renters are very low.
