An early morning pursuit beginning in Loveland and involving a stolen vehicle, ultimately ended in Windsor around 3 a.m. on Thursday, resulting in the 33-year-old driver being taken into custody on multiple charges.

Around 2:04 a.m., a Larimer County Sheriff's Office deputy noticed a silver 2006 BMW 750 sedan accurately matching the description of a vehicle theft that had been previously filed by the Loveland Police Department. The deputy first spotted the vehicle in the 800 block of southeast 4th Street in Loveland, and then attempted to pull the driver over at North Denver Avenue and East Eisenhower Boulevard. The suspect did not obey however, and instead took off traveling eastbound on U.S. 34, across I-25, and into Weld County, where he then took Weld County Road 74, heading northbound. Speeds recorded by deputies during the chase ranged from 50 to 130 miles per hour.

Although Larimer County deputies were able to put a stop to the pursuit near Eastman Park Drive and 3rd Street in Windsor, the action didn't quite end there. Once finally making contact with the stolen vehicle, deputies did not find their suspect inside of it. With the help of officers from the Windsor and Greeley Police Departments, law enforcement working the case set up a perimeter around the intersection of Garden and Canyon Drives, where they eventually located the driver, Shane Brice Moeller of Fort Collins. Moeller was taken into custody without incident, and was booked into the Larimer County Jail on counts of 2nd Degree Burglary, 1st and 2nd Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, Vehicular Eluding, Criminal Possession of a Financial Device, Criminal Possession of Identification Device and driving with a suspended/revoked license, totaling five felonies and two misdemeanors. According to police, Moeller was the suspect in another, separate stolen vehicle offense that also occurred in Loveland.
