We've all been in that terrifying situation: You are in a rainstorm and you temporarily lose control of your vehicle. A Greeley man was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon east of Sterling after his truck apparently hydroplaned during a heavy rain storm.

According to the Greeley Tribune, 37-year-old Shawn Wilbanks was driving east on I-76 into when he crossed a large amount of standing water around mile marker 125 and his car went into a skid. The vehicle rolled two and a half times.

Despite wearing a seatbelt, Wilbanks was declared dead on scene. Troopers say they do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to family in Friends.
