I love healthy competition. I also love the idea of rivals coming together to bond communities. I've lived in Northern Colorado for 15 years. I have spent a lot of time in Greeley where I had family living for a long time and I have always resided in Fort Collins. I have found so many reasons to like both cities.

The mayors of Greeley and Fort Collins are teaming up in a great way to highlight both these communities and the universities of each. Greeley Mayor Tom Norton and Fort Collins Mayor Wade Troxell have made a friendly wager on the outcome of the upcoming UNC vs CSU football game. The game is  Saturday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins. Both are NCAA Division I teams.  CSU is in the Mountain West Conference, while UNC is in the Big Sky Conference.

The press release says "the wager is for a basket of locally produced products from their respective communities. The Mayor from the winning team will receive the basket of goodies on September 29 at the Colorado Municipal League’s district meeting in Evans, Colorado".

Tickets start at $35 and are on sale at csurams.com.
