The Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies has been rescuing goldens for years, and this particular group of dogs came from Istanbul, Turkey. The country has been dealing with a golden retriever situation because the country once held the dogs in high esteem, but now there are too many of them that people just let them run free.

Most of the dogs who are now in Colorado were rescued from the forests of Turkey, and some had bite marks, large scabs and other, all treatable, health problems.

The dogs are hanging out right now at the Rescue's facility in Arvada, out of the 18 rescued by the group on Monday, 15 are still looking for homes.
