Colorado State University Board of Governors approved a 4.7 percent increase in tuition and fees today. The increase totals approximately $493 per full-time undergraduate student. This increase comes after the current school year's increase in tuition of 6.4 percent and a previous increases in 2011 and 2012 of 15.3 percent.

The President of Colorado State University, Tony Franks, told the board that tuition increases are "dealing with the enrollment growth" as CSU is faced with an approximate $30 million in new expenses next year. The tuition increases are expected to fund $29.8 million of those expenses.
