Update as of 9:00 p.m. Sunday June, 1: Here is the latest updates on flooding and road closures:

Larimer County:

  • NWS Flood Warning issued until 8:00 p.m. Monday June, 2nd.

Additionally in Larimer County:

9 News reported, Sunday evening the Cache La Poudre River at the canyon mouth was at 7.1 feet, flood stage is 7.5 feet.  Minor flooding is in the forecast.

Weld County:

  • NWS Flood Warning issued until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday June, 5th.

Additionally in Weld County:

9 News reported, Sunday evening the Cache La Poudre river near Greeley was at 9.2 feet, flood stage is 8 feet.  Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is in the forecast.  The Cache La Poudre river should fall to below flood stage by Wednesday afternoon.

There are a few trail and open space closures in effect:

  • The Trail is now closed from 25th Avenue in Greeley west to Windsor.
  • Poudre Ponds Recreational Fishery in Greeley is also closed to public access.
  • The Poudre Trail parking lot, trail head and open space at 71st Avenue are closed.

There are a few road closures in Greeley due to the high water & debris:

  • 6th Avenue from the Poudre bridge to 3rd Street
  • 71st Avenue at the Poudre River
  • 83rd Avenue at the Poudre River
  • 95th Avenue at the Poudre River
  • County Road 3 is closed between county roads 36 and 8
  • Fern Avenue in Greeley is closed between 8th and 16th streets
  • County Road 13 is closed from County Road 68 1/2 to Colo. 392.
  • Colo. 257 on the southeast side of Windsor is closed between Crossroads Boulevard and Eastman Park Drive because of water over the highway, and there is no estimated time of reopening.

If you do come across a road with high water, that has not been closed, DO NOT drive through it.  Find an alternate route if you can.  

Update as of 8:30 p.m. Saturday May, 31: Due to the additional rain, the following have been issued:

Larimer County:

  • Flood Advisory issued until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday June, 3rd.
  • Flood Warning issued until 12:00 p.m. on Monday June, 2nd.

Additionally in Larimer County:

A flood warning is in effect for the Cache la Poudre River at the canyon mouth until Sunday afternoon.

At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, the river was at 7.94 feet.  Flood stage is 7.5 feet.

Weld County:

  • Flood Advisory issued until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday June, 3rd.
  • Flood Warning issued until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday June, 3rd.

Additionally in Weld County:

The Greeley Tribune reported, residents are preparing for flooding as the Poudre River spilled into the gravel pit.

There are a few trail and open space closures in effect:

  • Flood Advisory issued until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday June, 3rd.
  • A Flash Flood Watch issued until 8:00 p.m. on Friday May, 30th.

From The Denver Channel, we need to be ready for more rain! Areas of heavy rain have developed around the mountains and over the plains.  These showers and storms will end up moving across the eastern half of the state throughout this evening.

These storms could produce some heavy rain in areas across both northern and northeastern Colorado.  A flash flood watch has been issued for the northern Front Range and most of northeastern Colorado through tonight.
