Denver International Airport (DEN) is one of the busiest airports in the world; millions of travelers go through it each year.

Many of those travelers enjoy a meal at one of its great restaurants, one of which was just rated as one of the best in America; the accolades just keep coming for them.

With all the grief that DIA gets about Blucifer, it is one very cool airport. If you've traveled around America, you've seen some really crummy ones - I'm talking to you, Sky Harbor International- so we should be very proud of DIA.

You know that when you dine at any airport, you're going to be spending more than you'd really want to outside of the airport, so having a place that has been deemed "worthy," again, we should at least find it and check it out.

DIA Restaurant Named Best Airport Restaurant by Money Inc

In April of 2024, Money Inc released their 2024 list for the "10 Best Airport Restaurants;" airports included:

  • Baltimore-Washington (D.C.) International
  • Miami International
  • San Francisco International
  • Portland International
  • Logan International - Boston
  • Hatfield-Jackson Atlanta International
  • Dallas-Fort Worth International
  • George Bush Intercontinental - Houston

Money Inc chose DIA's Root Down as the best airport restaurant.

...if you’ve traveled to the area before, you know that this particular area is big on being very progressive, something that is intensely reflected in this restaurant.

As far as other accolades go, in October of 2023, USA Today noted Root Down as being one of the Best in America, as well.

Where is Root Down Located at DIA?

The 4,000 square-foot "sit down" restaurant is at the C Concourse, right in the main core; it's hard to miss.

Root Down is definitely unique; they have a "vibe" that takes you back in time, almost as if you're Don Draper from "Mad Men" on a business flight to meet with the people from Coca-Cola (minus the smoking.)

From their site:

Root Down provides modern day conveniences in a retro-fitted environment.

MORE Colorado Food: This is One of Colorado's Best Mexican Spots

After opening in 2008, Las Palmeras Mexican Restaurant has become one of the area's very best locally-owned places to get delicious, and authentic Mexican food. We found this place by accident years ago while driving hungry down Main Street in Longmont and have been regulars ever since.
