Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a lively, Mexican holiday, in which families take the time to remember and honor their deceased loved ones.

For those celebrating in Colorado, the Longmont Museum will be hosting their signature Day of the Dead event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 4. Attracting more than 6,000 people, the museum's annual Día de los Muertos celebration is the largest in Colorado. Community participation is an essential part of this holiday that's full of life, reflection, food, family, and fun. Longmont Museum's free, family-oriented party features live music and dancing, sugar skull decorating, traditional food, community altars, paper flower making, face painting, Lady Catrina, and more! Be sure to come dressed in your best calaca (skeleton) apparel.

Leading up to the actual Day of the Dead bash, the museum invites the public to partake in other similarly-themed activities, like free Sugar Skull Making Day from 1-4 p.m on October 29 and the Gigantes Procession and Catrina Ball on November 3.
