The Colorado Junior Eagles spend a lot their time living in the shadow of their big brother, the Colorado Eagles. However that is soon to change, with them advancing to the Throne Cup Finals. The Throne Cup Finals, is the championship for the Western States Hockey League (WSHL), a high level of competitive hockey called, Junior 'A' hockey. The WSHL, consists of 30 teams, in four divisions, including teams form San Diego, Las Vegas, Ontario, Vancouver, Salt Lake City, Dallas and many more.

The Jr. Eagles advance to take on the Idaho Junior Steelheads for the Championship, this Friday, April 8 (2016), at 7:30 p.m., at the Northern Colorado Ice Center in Windsor. They did this by defeating the Oklahoma City Blazers in overtime, 4 to 3, in game three on Sunday night (April 3, 2016). This is the first appearance in the Throne Cup for the Eagles, who earned the number-one seed in the MSHL playoffs after going 43-7 in the regular season, scoring 325 goals on the season, and only giving up 126.

The Thorne Cup Finals is a best of five series, with the first two games in Northern Colorado, on April 8 and 9, and game three in Idaho on April 15. Games 4 and 5 are still TBD, and will be played if needed. Tickets for adults are only $8, Youth/Students/Military/Seniors is $5, and Ages 5 & Under are Free. The NoCo Ice Center is located at 7900 N. Fairground Ave, 80528. (I'm adding the map, because google maps took me to the wrong place the first time I went to see the Jr. Eagles.)
