We all know that the economic impact of COVID-19 has been brutal so far, and may continue to be so fro a while. However, a recent study by WalletHub has continued to keep an eye on how each individual state is being impacted by the fallout by tracking the unemployment claims filed in each state and the District of Columbia.

As in the past, WalletHub has been tracking the increases in unemployment on a weekly basis (this time for the week of April 13), as well as the building implications of the pandemic since the crisis officially began on March 16.

So, here's how to interpret Colorado's current ranking as the state that experience the 10th highest increase in unemployment over the past week.

    • 68,667 the week of April 13, 2020 vs 2,431 the week of January 1, 2020
    • 6th highest increase in the U.S.
  • 3,360.60% Increase in Unemployment Claims Since Pandemic Started
      • 301,177 between March 16, 2020 and April 13, 2020 vs 8,962 between March 18, 2019 and April 15, 2019
      • 14th highest increase in the U.S.
