Aims Community College is celebrating its 55th year, having started in September of 1967. September of 2022 will see the college's fifth annual hot air balloon event.

Another fun Colorado hot air balloon event is coming to Greeley, the last Saturday of September. The air will be crisp that morning, be sure to dress appropriately; maybe you have some Aims Community College gear you could wear.

Aims Community College now has four campuses across Colorado, after officially beginning on September 27, 1967. It was in 1971 that they moved to the 175-acre campus in west Greeley. Hundreds of thousands of people have gotten educated through Aims in their 55+ years.

The mascot for the school, Arty the Aardvark, dates all the way back to the beginning, of Aims, though they did have a St. Bernard as the mascot for about 15 years, before bringing the Aardvark back. It's fun. What's also fun is a hot air balloon launch; so why not put the two together and call it, "The Great Aardvark Embark?" It's perfect.

What have become almost a tradition for hot air balloon launches, are breakfast burritos. Aims' food truck, Arty's Grub to Go, will be on hand that morning selling breakfast burritos and coffee with proceeds going to Aims' Arty's Pantry which helps to ensure all students get the food and basic supplies the need to succeed.
