On TRI 102.5, it's Christmas in July for the whole weekend long.  This means that before Christmas, you can enjoy the magic of the holiday season six months early!

However, it doesn't really feel like Christmas mainly because it's so freaking hot.  How can we celebrate this awesome holiday while totally embracing what it means to be Christmastime?

Christmas cocktails are one way to do this.  We've found a ton on Pintrest to quench your thirst for the holidays but still keep you cold as ice, and have even put a spin on a few of them to make them a little more holiday...y.

Which one is your favorite?

    Candy Cane Cocktail

    Source: MixThatDrink.com

Get minty this summer!  Here's what you'll need for this simple (and strong) cocktail:

    1. 3/4 ounce Berry Vodka
    2. 3/4 ounce Peppermint Schnapps
    3. 3/4 ounce white creme de cacao
    4. 1/4 ounce grenadine
    5. 3/4 ounce heavy cream
    6. Crushed peppermints

Set the cream aside.  Rim the glass with the crushed peppermint and then shake all alcohol and grenadine together in a cocktail shaker.  Top with heavy cream and sit in front of the fire....or the beach.  This one really fits in everywhere.

    Limoncello

Limoncello is that special drink my dad always breaks out during the holidays, but since it's citrusy and fresh it works perfectly for these summer months as well.

Limoncello is fairly easy to make, too-- according to Jolynneshane.com, all you need is a normal bottle of vodka (or around 750 ml), 6 lemons, and one cup of sugar.  You'll only need the lemon rinds, and you'll let it sit in the vodka for two weeks.  DELISH!

    Gingerbread White Russian

Uh, yum-- we stumbled across this one on Pintrest and it looked to good not to share.

    Here's the recipe from RunningToTheKitchen.com:

    "Ingredients:

    • 4 ounces whole milk
    • 4 ounces vodka
    • 4 ounces Kahlua
    • 3 teaspoons molasses
    • 1/8 teaspoon ginger
    • cinnamon for rimming glasses
    • sugar for rimming glasses
    • whipped cream for topping
    • molasses drizzle for topping"

According to the site, you'll rim your glass in cinnamon and sugar, then combine the milk, vodka, and Kahlua in the cocktail shaker.

Add molasses and ginger if you want, and then strain the mixture over ice.  Yummy, Christmassy, and cool.
