Westword has listed their ten safest "big cities" in Colorado, and not surprisingly Northern Colorado is well represented on the list.

First off, the definition of a "big city" was clarified in the article. To be considered in the running, a municipality in Colorado must've had a population of 20,000 or more people when the survey was put together.

Windsor ends up topping the list with the following crime data:

Property Crime per 100k: 172
Crime Score: 420

Keep in mind that the data above reflects statistics from 2013 which was the latest data that was accessible.

Loveland shows up at number ten on the list, reflecting the safe nature that the city has put together. The following crime data was put together for the city:

Violent Crime per 100k: 150
Property Crime per 100k: 1,665
Crime Score: 1,540

Other Colorado cities making the list include Littleton, Broomfield, Parker, and Centennial.
