I was having a cocktail with a friend the other night, and we were talking about life stuff. He was asking some questions about my medical adventures of the past ten years, and commented that he was amazed at what a positive attitude I had about it all. I told him that there had been a few days along the we way when he wouldn’t have categorized me as positive.

I won’t lie. There has been some crazy stuff I’ve had to deal with. Through it all though, there has been one thing that I reminded myself. No matter how bad we think things are, there is someone out there that would gladly trade places with us. Our worst moment would be an upgrade for them. And there’s not a day or moment that it’s not true.

I read yesterday about a Colorado serviceman who was killed during his third tour in Afghanistan. There’s a family that would gladly trade their situation for your worst moment today.
