On Monday evening along I-25, you may have seen a truck hauling a U-Haul being pulled over by state troopers and the Larimer County Sheriffs.  Funny story about that…

At a little past 6:53 p.m. on Monday night (August 17, 2015), police were contacted by a woman concerned about a woman travelling on the interstate in a truck.  She saw this woman hold up a sign that said ‘help’ as the truck and U-Haul passed her car.

That does send a chill down a person’s back: What could be happening? Is she being kidnapped?  Is there a person threatening her? What’s the deal? So, Colorado State Patrol along with Larimer County Sheriff personnel rushed out onto to I-25 as the vehicle continued southbound.  They finally pulled the truck and U-Haul (both of which had Wyoming plates) over in the area between Prospect and Harmony.

Turns out, there were a bunch of ‘kids’ in the truck; 18-22 years-old.  A male was driving, with a woman in the passenger seat, and another woman in the back. This was a ‘high-risk’ traffic stop by the police, which infers to me, that they were ready for anything- they may have had their weapons drawn.  A pretty scary situation for all.

The woman who was riding passenger- the one who had held up the ‘help’ sign- claimed that it was just part of a ‘prank.’

Ohhh… Just a prank!  Well, we’re sorry we caused such a stir, then! What, with us zipping at high speeds through traffic, us standing with our guns blazing.. boy are our faces red! You got us!’

...is probably NOT how the conversation went between the occupants of the truck and the troopers and sheriffs.

It appears that they got off with just a warning.   Maybe next time they’ll just ‘moon’ passersby.

Kids, right?
