The Mulberry bridge in Fort Collins is being replaced. There however will be a year-long detour in the process.

As the Coloradoan reported, crews will be replacing the bridge on Mulberry going over the Poudre River. The replacement is expected to last a year, making for a year-long detour for those that are eastbound.

The existing bridge was built in 1949 and has been deemed that it warrants a replacement.

CDOT will begin work on the replacement project this week. The detour, which will take eastbound traffic on Mulberry Street to Riverside Avenue, is expected to start later this month.

Westbound traffic on Mulberry Street also known as Colorado Highway 14, will be routed to the existing eastbound lanes of the bridge during the first phase of the project. The Poudre River Trail is expected to be closed around the construction area throughout the project.
