Woman Injured by Lightning Strike During Saturday Storm

Northern Colorado was struck by severe storms on Saturday (May 7,2016) that included thunderous rain, hail, tornado warnings, and lightning that sent one woman to the hospital.

According to the Coloradoan, a 50-year-old was taken to McKee Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, after a bolt of lightning struck a nearby power pole.

The incident happened at approximately 2:00 p.m. in the 14000 block of Buckhorn Road. Power in the surrounding area was temporarily knocked out due to the lightning strike.
