For many, the Colorado resorts are only worth visiting in the summer. These would be the folks who don't ski or snowboard and/or don't like the cold weather. I'll admit, it's strange to love being outside when it's no degrees.

So, I understand that the flowery mountain meadows, the mild temperatures compared to the sometimes scorching Front Range, and the better prices are quite a draw.

For adrenaline seekers, the resorts offer incredible downhill mountain bike courses. For golfers, some of the best courses are only snow free from May to October. And still for others, it's hiking around the ski slopes or the other hundreds of trails that are in the Rocky Mountain region.
