In honor of all the amazing things we have in our lives, I decided to turn our Christmas tree giveaway with Bath Garden Center and Nursery into a show of gratitude and thanks, so I asked people to email and call with the things for which they are grateful.

The responses make me want to keep it going all year long!

Here are a few.

Hello,

I believe gratitude is the secret to a happy life. The light from a babys' smile,  witnessing the kindness of others, a beautiful blue sky against the Colorado mountains.......... my gratitude list would fill pages.  I am grateful for most everything that life brings.  I try to make gratitude a way of life for me every day. Before beginning my day in the morning, I am thankful  for all the blessings that are coming my way that I have not even received yet. In the evening I am thankful for everything---good or bad that has happened to me that day because the experience helps me to gain compassion, wisdom and insight so I can keep working on being a better "me".  Gratitude is what keeps us  connected to what ever we believe is our divine source, higher power or creator. The "attitude of gratitude" will make a difference in your life.

Happy Holidays!

Susan, Greeley, CO

My husband had to work in San Diego while I had to move on to Loveland and oversee the building of our home.  I'm grateful for the friends and family that were always there for us to invite us for a meal or  share a nice day together.  I'm glad for the glue of love that kept my husband and myself together in spirit for those 7 months.  Now I can look out of our Colorado home, see the natural beauty of the foothills and hear my husband come in the door after work.  Blessings abound!

I took some great calls on this as well

Paul and Susan,

I am grateful for the wonderful family I have.  I have been blessed to have both my parents still alive, my dad is 85 and mom is 83.  They have both been in good health until recently (my dad has pneumonia for almost 2 weeks now)  so having them to share the holiday season with is a blessing.  I also have the most wonderful caring husband and great employer and coworkers that can always brighten a day.

Have a very Merry Christmas.

Kathryn from Cheyenne didn't need to be in the drawing, but wanted to chime in on our contest idea.

Hello Paul, hope you are having a merry Christmas! I do not need a tree, because we already put up our fake one ( :( hubby doesn't like real *sad*) However I just wanted to let you know I just started listening and following you guys and love your station, and I totally agree with the new contest rules. I'm so frustrated that we live in a society now where people are always thinking only about themselves and what they Dont have. I'm so glad you are reminding people that's it not about what we Dont have its about the blessing we DO have. I'm blessed to know there are still people out there that care about these principles and your one of them!

God Bless, and have a Merry Christmas!

Kathryn

Why I am Grateful-

There are so many reasons I am grateful this year.  I just found out I will be expecting my first grandchild in May!!  I am so grateful to be doing work that I absolutely love (hypnotherapy & massage), which doesn't seem like "work" because it is incredibly rewarding. I am so thankful to have so many wonderful friends and family in my life, including my three kids and a husband who always treats me like a princess. I have two amazing pets--Dakota, my Alaskan Malamute and my sweet kitty, Ellie that bring a smile to my face everyday. Most of all, I am glad to be sober for the past 14 1/2 years, because if I was still drinking, I wouldn't have most of what I have and wouldn't be able to recognize the things that are truly "gifts" in my life.

Hey Paul

I'm grateful for my birds because they give me Unconditional Love etc. & those in my life who are a Great support system when life gets rough.

Vivian

Good morning gang,

There is so much I have found to be grateful for! The past few months have been tight on us, being unemployed was rough. But the part time hours we found have helped beyond what I though possible. Having friends give us a roof over our head, when we had no where else, has been another reason to be so filled with gratitude. Even though my car is falling a part, I still have wheels to get me to work.   I am so grateful to the love of my life by my side this Christmas season!

Thanks for giving so many people food for thought, when it comes to being grateful this season.

Cheers,

Kathryn

As for me, I am grateful for everything around me. We are so lucky to be alive at this very time and place, and my life is so full of blessings, I often cannot believe it.

Thank you so much to everyone who wrote and called in, and to Bath Garden Center and Nursery for providing the Christmas trees!
