At 4:25 a.m. today, on my drive to work, I heard 4 bad news stories in a row.

I turned off the station and decided that when people turned on my station, they would hear things that would make them smile.

After I heard one bad news story, I thought, "That's a shame." After two, I sunk in my seat a bit. At three, I was feeling funky, and I hadn't even been awake for 2 hours yet on a Monday. As the fourth story with terrible news began, I just hit mute. I didn't look for another station with a better sound.

I decided it was time for me to listen to the sometime inaudible soundtrack of my own good fortune. So, I made a list of the thing for which I am grateful, and gave thanks for each one of them.

My wife. My whole family. My dog. My town, state, and country. My health. Commuting to Windsor and having a view of Main Street.

On my way back to the grind on a Monday morning, I was thankful there was a grind to get back to. I'm really glad I like my job, my grind. I have to say a lot of words, but I like word saying.

Today, as the sun came up as early as it does all year, giving me a rare glimpse of light on my way to the radio station, I was filled with the feeling that it was time to reflect and think about the good things in my life.

What are the good things in your life?

Is it summer days, like the ones we have ahead?

Is it watching your children find new adventures?

Is there a sound that you can hear that will bring happiness to your heart? Is it music? A person's voice? A sound of nature, like the wind through the trees, or a trickling stream?

Maybe it's a place. Or an experience.

Whatever it is, I would love to hear about it. Leave a comment below, or wherever you want. If it's about happiness, the person who needs it will find it.
