Ah, Summer in northern Colorado.  Beautiful weather, breathtaking mountain vistas...and mosquitoes carrying terrible diseases.

While none have been found in Larimer County yet, mosquitoes with West Nile Virus have already been found in Boulder, Weld and Adams counties, according to the Coloradoan.

So even though West Nile season typically starts in July for Larimer County, signs are pointing to the virus reaching us early this year.

"Last year Larimer had positive mosquitoes in June," (Jane Viste, spokeswoman for the county's Department of Health and Environment) said. "The fact that both Boulder and Weld have them tells us that it's time for people to be cautious. There are so many mosquitoes — it's a good time to wear repellent because one of these days, we'll be getting West Nile."

So get out there and enjoy the Summer; just don't forget the bug spray!
