Weld County Transportation Ending Services for Residents on Medicaid

The Weld County Board of Commissioners has announced that Weld County Transportation will cease transportation service for those on Medicaid in the Greeley area due to declining ridership.

According to a press release, transportation services via Weld County Transportation will end operations effective Saturday, February 18, 2012. A contracted company, First Transit, will be providing rides to those in need. 

First Transit’s ability to secure less costly transportation services, and a shift in ridership from Weld County Transportation to First Transit were both factors in the county’s decision to end the program.
