We Agreed Not To Buy Gifts For Valentine’s Day – Should I Still Do Something?

The responses were quick, to the point, and overwhelmingly NOT in favor of not doing at least something for Valentine’s Day!
A little background…
This Valentine’s Day, like some in the past, comes in the midst of ski vacations, house renovations and many other money consuming activities. So, my wife and I talked and both agreed that we should skip buying each other something for Valentine’s Day.
So, I asked the public. Am I safe not doing anything at all for my wife on Valentine’s Day?
