Warning: A New Perspective Will Make You Happy

I was having a cocktail with a friend the other night, and we were talking about life stuff. He was asking some questions about my medical adventures of the past eight years, and commented that he was amazed at what a positive attitude I had about it all. I told him that there had been a few days along the we way when he wouldn’t have categorized me as positive. I took a sip of scotch.

I won’t lie. There has been some crazy stuff I’ve had to deal with. Through it all though, there has been one thing that I reminded myself. No matter how bad we think things are, there is someone out there that would gladly trade places with us. They would consider our worst moment to be an upgrade for them.

There’s not a day or moment that it’s not true.
