Lots of us shop at Wal-Mart. Not as many us shop at Victoria’s Secret. However, both stores do have one thing in common: selling us used undies.

Recently, investigators were following up on companies who were busted back in 2010 for selling underwear that had been purchased and brought back without tags- and then put back on the shelves. In the new investigation Wal-Mart, Victoria’s Secret, and Marshalls revealed that they don’t care if someone wore underwear and brought it back: Those nickers went right back on the rack.

Gross? Pretty much. Perhaps they were just thinking of ‘gross profits’.

Investigation bought the underwear, putting trackable dots on the labels and removing the sales tags. They then brought the unmentionables back to the store. Since the garments were marked- investigators were able to see that the stores just put those items back on the rack.

Now, it wasn’t EVERY store… but still. Yuck.

You could look at this story two ways: One- at Victoria’s Secret you’re paying a lot of money for underwear, to find out that it’s used. Two- at Wal-Mart, those who can’t afford high-priced undergarments – are bringing them back. Ick.

On the bright side, after being busted AGAIN- We can hope that better policies are in already enacted to prevent “Second Hand Shorts”.
