If you have ever tried to sell or purchase something online and then meet in person to do the transaction, you know it can be a scary thing. Weld County now has a safe zone for it.

The Weld County Sheriff's Office are offering their administrative offices as a place to meet in a safe zone to conduct your transactions.

WCSO personnel will not participate or even act as an official witnesses during the transactions.

It is probably a safe bet that if someone doesn't want to meet at the Safe Zone, it might be a red flag that it may not be a good idea to conduct business with that person. However that choice is yours of course.

The following Sheriff’s Office facilities are available as safe transition zones during business hours:

  • Headquarters, 1950 “O” Street, Greeley, Colorado 80631. Open from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Southwest substation, 4209 Weld County Road 24 1/2, Del Camino 80504. Open from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • • Southeast substation, 2950 9th Street, Fort Lupton, Colorado 80621. Open from 10 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday.

It also goes without saying that anytime you do an online transaction you should always be cautious as to what people are asking about or for. As a good rule of thumb you should probably have someone with you as well just as a witness or a safety net.

Unfortunately there are some bad people out there that shine a bad light on the good people. Either way it is good to be cautious.
