Smoking materials ignited a fire that killed two people in a mobile home park near west Loveland early Thursday. Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies and the Loveland Fire Department responded to the  fire at Mountain View Mobile Home Park at 12:03 a.m. on Thursday at trailer #30.

Authorities say a 70-year-old woman and her 50-year-old son have died from smoke inhalation and burns they suffered when their mobile home caught fire.

The Larimer County coroner on Thursday identified the woman as Hazel Piper and the man as Harvard Preston Thomas. An autopsy conducted by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office found that both victims suffered smoke inhalation, and that Thomas also had burn injuries that contributed to his death.
