The world is full of uniqueness. With uniqueness, there are needs for acceptance. That's why November is Transgender Awareness month. A study done in 2016 says there are 1.4 million transgender adults living in the United States. This is a large group of our friends, neighbors and coworkers who are asking for basic human rights.

Merriam-Webster describes Transgender as "a person whose gender identity differs from the sex the person had or was identified as having at birth".

The City of Fort Collins proclaims November as Transgender Awareness Month and on November 20th at 5:30pm, local leaders will use the open forum of the city council meeting, to urge them to uphold Transgender protections via city ordinances that are at risk at the federal level.

Attendees can gather in the lobby at 300 Laporte Avenue starting at 5pm.
