Train derailed in Weld County Near Hudson

A train derailed early Sunday, dumping tons of coal near the town of Hudson. According to 7News in Denver, the train cars derailed at about 9:35 yesterday morning, near mile marker 341 on I-76.

No injuries were reported, but there was significant damage to the tracks, which were shut down for repairs and cleanup.

There were 120 cars on the train, carrying 17,000 tons of coal. At least 27 freight cars derailed and lost their cargo. There was no timetable for when the damaged track might reopen.
