Does PVSE conduct well pet exams and administer vaccines?

PVSE does not.  We are a specialty and emergency veterinary service.  Routine, annual, and standard exams and vaccines should be performed by your family veterinarian!

Why is dental care and routine checkups important for your pet?

Oral hygiene is often overlooked but important in your pet’s overall health.  Problems left untreated can lead to bacteria entering the bloodstream and affect their heart, kidneys or liver.  A pet owner can lessen the chance of potential problems by regularly brushing your pet’s teeth.  Your veterinarian can offer tips to help you implement this important practice.  Also, letting your pet gnaw on a chew toy can help massage their gums and help keep their teeth clean by scraping away soft tarter.  Again, check with your family vet for recommendations for toxin-free rawhide, nylon and rubber chew toys.  Your family veterinarian can assist you with your routine dental checkups and procedures.  PVSE is available for more extensive dental care such as root canals, fractures, or injury related problems.

Signs of possible Oral Disease may include:

  • Weight Loss
  • Bad Breath
  • Loss of appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Excessive drinking or urinating
  • Excessive drooling
  • Inflamed gums
  • Loose teeth
