According to Friday's Coloradoan, the crash in Loveland on Thursday was caused by a Greeley woman who was driving impaired. The accident ended up closing U.S. 34 for more than three hours on Thursday right near Interstate 25.

29 year old Stephanie Valdez wrecked on the center median of U.S. 34 near the I-25 junction. Officials are saying that speed and intoxication are being considered factors in the crash. Toxicology results are pending to receive confirmation on if Valdez was using drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.

Valdez was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland where she was still listed in critical condition Friday morning. She was the only driver injured in the wreck. Valdez may be charged by the District Attorney's Office pending the completion of the crash investigation.
