Colorado has a mile high obsession with not only beer, but Pokemon Go, as well. Put them together and you get thousands of drunk people meandering through the streets on their phones trying to "catch 'em all."

A few fanatics created a Facebook event last week for a Pokemon Go bar crawl in Downtown Denver, and it quickly blew up with thousands of people RSVP-ing.

As of Tuesday afternoon, over 1,600 people said they will be attending the event, which is set to run from 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, to 4 a.m. on Sunday, August 21. Another 7,100 Facebook users said they are interested in going.

Due to the overwhelming response, there's going to be an initial Pokemon Go meetup in Denver on Sunday, July 17, most likely at 2 p.m. to gauge interest and help iron out details for the August event. The meeting place has yet to be announced, but you can follow the July event details HERE.

According to Denver Eater, multiple businesses are trying to entice Pokemon Go users with various specials, with "PokeStops" including Little Man Ice Cream, The 1UP, Snarf's, Illegal Pete's, the Yard House, and Scruffy Murphy's.
