It's time for repair and improvements at one of the busiest intersections in Fort Collins. According to The Coloradoan, it's the third busiest (as of 2016) in the city. I can hear you now...."Please don't say College and Horsetooth!" Sorry. That's the one they're going to start working on right after Memorial Day.

Horsetooth will be more affected than College as they are scheduling FULL CLOSURES beginning June 16th. East of College Ave to Mitchell Drive will be closed June 18-July 16 and West of College Ave to Mason Street will be shut down July 16-September 9th. I know....I see it too. What about Chick-fil-A? Good news: the city says there will be business access to the stores in the area.

So, what are they doing? It is not only one of the busiest intersections in the city, it has been among the more treacherous for left turns with no improvements since 1996. The work will result in double left-turn lanes on College and Horsetooth in both directions, a new pedestrian bridge, more room and safety for bicyclists and pedestrians, and landscaping.

The detour roads around that area include Bockman Dr, John F. Kennedy Pkwy, Monroe Dr, Mason St and Creger Dr.
