The Denver Broncos Caravan Tour in Greeley Today

It used to be an everyday thing in the summer that the Denver Broncos were hanging out in Greeley. Times have changed, and now it’s rare to have the Broncos in town. That rare opportunity occurs today as the Broncos will arrive in Greeley today as part of their Broncos Country Caravan 2012 tour through Colorado which began in in Trinidad in May. As part of their tour, the team will make appearances at the Rodarte Community Center, Sports Authority and then culminate the event at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) Nottingham Field. 

The Denver Broncos will be visiting with youth enrolled in the Fun in the Sun (FITS) program at Rodarte at 9 a.m. to promote Fuel Up to Play 60 with Miles. The program is sponsored by the Western Dairy Council and inspires youth to “fuel up” with low-fat and fat-free dairy, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains and to “get up and play” for at least 60 minutes a day. The Rodarte Center is located at 920 A Street and has roughly 300 children registered in their summer camp program.

From 2:30-3:30 p.m. the Broncos will be making an appearance at Sports Authority at 4114 Centerplace Drive where people will be able to get autographs from cheerleaders, Alumni, and Miles the Mascot.

The UNC event will feature activities for youth and appearances by Broncos alumni Mark Jackson and Vance Johnson, the Denver Bronco Cheerleaders, Thunder and Miles the Mascot. Fans will be able to view Super Bowl trophies, play interactive games, win prizes and also take part in the Broncos Country flag signing. One Broncos Country flag will be presented to Mayor Tom Norton and another will be signed by all those who attend the city celebration. That flag will be brought back and displayed at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. UNC football student-athletes will assist with a kids’ skills challenge, which will include the 40-yard dash, broad jump and vertical jump.
