Great news for Pueblo:  18 other towns in the U.S. suck worse:

  • 18.  Springfield, MA
  • 17.  Miami Beach, FL
  • 16.  Rockford, IL
  • 15.  Jackson, MS
  • 14.  Baltimore, MD
  • 13.  Stockton, CA
  • 12.  Springfield, MO
  • 11.  San Berandino, CA
  • 10.  Wilmington, DE
  • 9.  Merced, CA
  • 8.  Hartford, CT
  • 7.  Albany, GA
  • 6.  Milwaukee, WI
  • 5.  Memphis, TN
  • 4.  St. Louis, MO
  • 3.  Flint, MI
  • 2.  Birmingham, AL
  • 1.  Detroit, MI

This according to the website buzz.auntyacid.com, and seems to be based almost solely on crime statistics.  Sounds legit enough, as on my adventure through different positions in radio, I experienced life in Omaha, Indianapolis, and Colorado Springs (as well as a couple places I'm fond of;) and I can tell you there's nothing that gives me an attitude - dare I say rage - as being surrounded by rampant crime.

For Pueblo, the study credits its poor ranking to these facts:

  • 18.4 percent of adults have a bachelor's degree.
  • One out of four residents live in poverty.
  • The average household earns $45,000 - which is $13,000 below the national average.
  • I would add that Colorado Springs makes fun of it.
