One in every 26 persons will develop seizures in their lifetime. That’s scary to think about. There’s an organization based out of Loveland, to help those who have a history of seizures, and they are having a fundraiser this summer.

A friend recently told me about how one of her co-workers had a grand mal seizure at work. It was very scary for everybody. Luckily, a staffer has EMT training and was able to provide assistance until the ambulance arrived. So, when I heard about this organization that helps those who have seizures and their fundraising campaign, I wanted to do the story about it.

Seizure360, based out of Loveland, provides help and support to those who have a history of seizures. Its founder has had seizures since he was a baby; he knows first-hand the struggles that seizure-prone people have, that’s why he started the 501(c)(3) charity. 200,000 people every year are diagnosed with a seizure disorder, so it’s good to know that there is a local place to turn to should you need help. Their main goal is to start support groups around the country, provide financial assistance for medical bills and other health options and provide opportunities for work for those who are having trouble finding jobs because of this disorder.

This summer, they’ll be having their ‘The Brain Matters’ fundraiser. Stop in at Rumors on Main in Windsor from August 16th to September 16th, to make a donation and spin the prize wheel.  Also, if you make a $25 donation to Seizure360 you’ll receive a free shirt – (2 shirts for a $40 donation.) You can meet the Seizure360 team at Rumors on August 20th from Noon-2 p.m., and thank them for ‘Opening Doors for New Paths.’
