Wow, this is not the New Year that restaurant owners in town were hoping for. Earlier today we found out that the Beach House Grill in Old Town Fort Collins has closed it's doors for good, and now NoCO5 is reporting that The Armadillo has also closed down for good.

The Armadillo, located at 354 Walnut Street in Old Town Fort Collins will no longer be serving Mexican food. NoCO5 reports,

A sign on the front door says, "Sorry we are closed...forever :(." The Armadillo is a family run restaurant and business with over 5 throughout Colorado. The Armadillo restaurant first opened up back in 1972.

The Armadillo website still lists seven Colorado locations, but I tried calling the Fort Collins, Greeley and Longmont locations, but all three numbers appear to have been disconnected. (It appears the Longmont location closed down a few months ago and the Greeley location was put up for sale last September.)

Looks like there will be one less place for late night karaokee in Fort Collins. We'll miss you Armadillo, I hope your former employees find new work quickly.
