The first batch of performers revealed for the 2012 Grammy Awards includes superstars Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson and Nicki Minaj. The Recording Academy announced today that Bruno Mars, Foo Fighters and Jason Aldean will also be taking the stage.

Swift was a big winner two years ago, when she walked away with four awards, including Album of the Year for ‘Fearless.’ This time around, she’s up for three trophies, all in the country categories, including Best Country Song for ‘Mean.’ We’re looking forward to seeing Swift perform too — she’s come along way since her flopped 2010 Grammy perf when she brought out Stevie Nicks as a guest.

Minaj is among the favorites to win Best New Artist and she’s a contender for Best Rap Album for ‘Pink Friday.’ Mars has six nominations, including Record and Song of the Year for ‘Grenade’ and Album of the Year for ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans.’ Last year he performed on the telecast as part of an R&B medley with B.o.B and Janelle Monae.

Clarkson will probably be performing with Aldean, as her only nomination this year is for their No. 1 country duet ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay.’ Her latest album, ‘Stronger,’ missed the cutoff date for this year’s Grammys and won’t be eligible until the 2013 ceremony.

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards air on CBS at 8PM EST on Feb. 12 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Additional performers — possibly including six-time nominee Adele — will be announced in the coming days.
