Guess what? If you live in Fort Collins, you'll could face water restrictions as early as April 1st, 2013. At least that's the news from the Coloradoan. Those water restrictions could be more severe than usual. And when restrictions are in place, the city water features at Oak Street Plaza, Spring Canyon Park and Fossil Creek Park all have to have their water turned off as well. Lame.

We all know it's been unusually hot, but I didn't know that affected water pressure. The City of Loveland says that due to our extreme temperatures, the water system is in high demand, so that means lower water pressure for Loveland Water & Power customers. Water usage in the City of Loveland was up 35% on Wednesday, using 27 million gallons.

The Hewlett Fire northwest of Fort Collins has grown to approach Greeley’s Milton Seaman Reservoir.  The Forest Service has evacuated city buildings, including the home of the reservoir caretakers there. The Milton Seaman Reservoir provides water for the City of Greeley and there is potential for the water supply to be affected.
