‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ Recruits Two New Cast Members; Production Delay Confirmed

Looks like 'Star Wars: Episode 7' isn't quite done with casting just yet. Disney has just announced that two new faces will join the cast of J.J. Abrams' upcoming film following a major casting call, and that production will take a brief hiatus in August due to Harrison Ford's injury, giving the newbies plenty of time to get acquainted with their fellow cast members.

Last week, the internet couldn't stop talking about Harrison Ford's 'Star Wars: Episode 7' injury. Oh, the jokes! Oh, the memes! There's a certain amount of comedy to be found in an elderly Han Solo injuring his ankle thanks to the door of the Millennium Falcon. But now is the time to quit with the laughter: Ford's injury, while certainly not life-threatening, is bad enough that he won't be able to return to the set for eight weeks.

Harrison Ford is getting too old for this.

The 71-year-old actor, now famous for his "I'm over it" approach to various situations, including those raving 'Star Wars' fans, was sent to a hospital after injuring his ankle today while filming scenes for 'Star Wars: Episode 7.'

‘Star Wars’ is Plotting “At Least” Three Spinoff Films

Ever since George Lucas sold 'Star Wars' to Disney a year and a half ago, there's been word of sequels and spinoffs in the works. But the production of 'Star Wars: Episode 7' took longer to launch than expected, and so the effort to create those standalone films was put on the back burner. Now that 'Episode 7' is days away from shooting, Disney is beating the drum again, and have announced they'll be at least three new spinoffs coming before 2024.

'Star Wars: Episode 7' has finally announced its cast after a long process that has spanned months of speculation and rumors. The stars of the original trilogy - Mark Hamill, Harrison FordCarrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker - have finally been confirmed, and they'll be joined by newcomers to the franchise Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Max von Sydow, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis and Domhnall Gleeson.
