I'm a huge fan of magic; like, gigantic. And magicians don't get much more iconic than Harry Houdini, the famous escape artist. And now there's (finally) going to be a movie about him!
Yesterday, as I was sharing y excitement with you over the upcoming movie Man of Steel, I realized that there are actually a lot of movies coming in 2013 that I'm excited about! So, while I don't want to bore you will every single one ('cause there are a whole lot), I thought I'd pick five more and share them with you all at once!...
Looking back at my childhood, I have a lot of memories of running around with friends, all of us pretending we were different superheroes. While I assumed the identities of many different characters during our numerous adventures, there was one I always came back to: Superman.
I don't want to toot my own horn, but I'm a pretty good fiance. I've seen every "Twilight" movie (except one) with my lovely lady, in the theater. I'll probably see the latest one with her this weekend. And now, along comes a movie based on another book by Stephenie Meyer, author of "Twilight." And will I see it? You bet I will!
Movies about magic are definitely high on my list of favorites. The Prestige and The Illusionist come to mind off the top of my head. Love those. Of course, being a guy, there's something coded into my DNA that makes me love a good heist movie. (Ever see The Score? Great Flick). And then along comes the trailer for the upcoming Now You See Me, the first magic-heist movie I can remember; and destined to be one of my new favorites.
I've been chomping at the bit to see more footage of the upcoming movie adaptation of the musical Les Miserables. The new international trailer has finally given me my fix...at least for now!
I enjoy scary movies. Especially good ones. There are few things better than a well-made horror movie in the middle of the night on Halloween, in my opinion. But I've come across a lot of really bad horror movies over the years, and it really ruins the whole movie-going experience for me. That's why, this Halloween, I'll be picking my movies carefully.
I confess, I'm a fan of movie musicals. If it looks even halfway good, I'll probably see it. That's why I'll probably see the upcoming "Pitch Perfect."
Kickoff of Super Bowl XLVI is at about 4:30 Sunday afternoon. By the time that the Lombardi Trophy is won, we'll have seen dozens of expensive commercials. Expensive to make, expensive to have bought the time on NBC. One of the big categories of commercials through the years has been the movie trailer category. Let's take a look on what we have (or don't have) in store for the big game!
