Fire Starts During Windsor Fireworks at Boardwalk Park Last Night [VIDEO/PICTURES]

A brush fire started late last night on the north side of Windsor Lake during the town’s fireworks display at Boardwalk Park.

According to the Greeley Tribune, the fire started around 9:45 p.m., during the fireworks show, in the area from which fireworks were launched.

Where Can I Legally Shoot Off Fireworks In Colorado?

If "lighting off fireworks" means using bottle-rockets, mortars, roman candles, Black Cats, fountains and the like, than the short answer is "nowhere."

According to Colorado law the only fireworks allowed for personal use in the state cannot explode, nor can they leave the ground and fly through the air. Firecrackers, rockets of any kind, and mortars are also illegal everywhere in Colorado. On top of that, many cities in the counties in the state have even more strict rules, some going so far as to ban all fireworks.

City of Loveland Bans Sale and Use of Personal Fireworks

Tuesday night Loveland’s City Council passed a ban on the sale and use of personal fireworks within city limits.  Governor John Hickenlooper already issued a Colorado state-wide ban on fireworks and  Larimer County Commissioners have restrictions in place for Larimer County.

Reminder From the City of Loveland: Igniting Personal Fireworks Is Prohibited in Loveland and All of Colorado

The City of Loveland wants to remind us that personal fireworks are illegal in Loveland and all of Colorado. Due to an executive order by Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, the use of personal fireworks in the City of Loveland and throughout the state of Colorado is prohibited until further notice.

Loveland’s annual July 4th fireworks celebration at North Lake Park will be presented as planned.

Larimer County Bans Fireworks in Western Part of the County

The Board of Larimer County Commissioners approved a ban on the sale and use of fireworks and public fireworks displays for unincorporated western Larimer County (north to south), effective Saturday, June 16, 2012 when former restrictions are set to expire.

Open Fires are already restricted through September 30, 2012.
