Fort Collins has been chosen, along with Aspen and Brighton, to participate in an energy savings competition. The winner of Georgetown Energy Prize wins $5 million!

On a windy Wednesday, Senator Michael Bennet visited Windsor to push for an extension of the wind energy production tax credit that will be expiring at the end of 2012. Vestas, a company with a plant in Windsor and Brighton that builds equipment for wind farms recently announced reorganization world-wide.

Xcel Energy presented the City of Greeley with the Xcel Energy Achievement Award. The City of Greeley installed high-speed turbo blowers at the Greeley Water Pollution Control Facility. The new blowers are projected to save 2,786,656 kilowat-hours annually and will reduce electrical consumption and greenhouse gasses.
