‘The Voice’ Nears the Same Number of Viewers as ‘American Idol’ [POLL]

"American Idol" or "The Voice?" NBC's singing competition is nearing the same audience as the ratings leader, "American Idol.'" On Monday, "The Voice" inched closer to knocking "Idol" off the rating throne. I have to say I was a huge fan of "Idol" since season one, but more and more it seems to be about drama rather than finding singing talent. I find myself following "The Voice" more closely this year.

Adam Levine Calls Randy Jackson ‘Irresponsible’

They’re competing for a similar demographic, so it only stands to reason that the ‘American Idol‘ judges might not be on the friendliest of terms with their counterparts on NBC’s upstart hit ‘The Voice.’ But it’s still a little surprising to watch the war of words that seems to be unfolding between Adam Levine and Randy Jackson.

Jim Carrey’s Daughter Jane Gives Us ‘Something to Talk About’ on ‘American Idol’

Jim Carrey’s daughter Jane tried out for ‘American Idol‘ at the San Diego round of auditions. She certainly looks like dear old dad. It’s a bold move for the daughter of a celebrity to try out for the show, but it’s also honest, since the 24-year-old isn’t relying on her dad’s name to get ahead. For that, we certainly applaud Jane Carrey.

‘American Idol’ Champ Lee DeWyze Dropped by His Record Label

If 10 seasons of ‘American Idol’ have taught us anything, it’s that viewers who vote for the winner cannot necessarily be counted on to buy that person’s albums later on. In other words, for every Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, there’s at least one Taylor Hicks.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest victim of such fickle behavior is season nine winner Lee DeWyze, who’s been dropped by his label, RCA. DeWyze’s debut, ‘Live It Up,’ has sold only 168,000 copies since its release almost a year ago, a few months after he won the Fox competition.

Jennifer Lopez Covers Vanity Fair, Will Return to ‘American Idol’

Only a few weeks after she announced that she is splitting from Marc Anthony, actress/singer/’American Idol’ host Jennifer Lopez opened up to Vanity Fair about the downfall of her marriage and why she’s still an “eternal optimist.”

In an exclusive cover story, Lopez revealed: “It’s not that I didn’t love myself before. Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself – if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me.”
