This weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year. Why? Because we set our clocks back to standard time, getting a extra hour on Saturday night! (It's technically Sunday Morning, a longer Saturday night just sounds more fun.)

Getting an extra hour, falling back, call it what you want, but just remember to set those clocks back before you go to sleep this weekend.

From Time.gov,

The change from daylight saving time to standard time will occur on Sunday, November 4th at 2:00 a.m. (local time). Clocks should be set BACK 1 hour.

Why do we have daylight saving and standard time changes? We may have Benjamin Franklin to thank. Discovery News says that the idea may have been first suggested in a "1784 essay he wrote that adjusting the clocks in the spring could be a good way to save on candles." Read the whole story behind daylight saving here.
