The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show celebrates its 59th year in North Scottsdale Feb. 13-23 and I will be there, spectating. This horse show draws hundreds of thousands of horse lovers each year and attracts more than 2,400 of the world’s finest Arabian and half-Arabian horses to WestWorld, .
“These magnificent, versatile, user-friendly animals and their owners will gather from around the world to compete for over $1 million in prize monies in more than 640 colorful classes,” says Taryl O’Shea, executive director, Arabian Horse Association of Arizona.
Some of the classes include:Reining Futurity, Youth Lead Line Classes, and what I most look forward to, the $5,000 Arabian Freestyle Liberty Class showcasing Arabian horses set free in a music-filled arena, without saddles or bridles.
The show is also a highly successful fundraiser put on by the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona. Over the years, millions of dollars have gone to worthy charities, including the Cox Charities and March of Dimes.
